Executive Director

Lisa Cookston started as Executive Director of the Museum January 2, 2023. Mrs. Cookston is a native Greenwoodian and a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature with a minor in Political Science. She has worked with several non- profits, starting with the March of Dimes and the Nature Conservancy in Jackson, Mississippi.

From there, Mrs. Cookston moved to Las Vegas where she worked for an events planning agency called Parks People. After moving back to Greenwood in 1998, She was Lifestyles Editor of the Greenwood Commonwealth, Public Relations Director for Staplcotn, and Executive Director of Main Street Greenwood. Cookston also taught Beginning English Composition for seven years as an adjunct teacher at Mississippi Delta Community College. She was elected as a City Council member in 2009 and continues to serve her city and ward today.

Manager of Operations

Charles Ditto serves as Manager of Operations. Mr. Ditto began as a front desk volunteer in June 2012, and was quickly promoted to Weekend Manager overseeing day-to-day operations on Saturdays and Sundays. Prior to joining the museum, Mr. Ditto was employed for 23 years at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Among the positions held at the University was as a Conference Coordinator which has been useful in developing programming and event rentals at the Museum which aid in benefitting the community at large. In addition to time spent at the Museum, Ditto was employed in the local hotel/ hospitality industry since moving to Mississippi.
