Low lighting and quiet, self‐paced stations. No loud sounds or crowded groups – a gentle, predictable environment.
Sensory‐friendly activities – sound cans, soft textures (pelts and feathers), gentle smells (spice bags)

Archaeology Adventure | Friday, July 17

Guest expert Nikki Mattson will lead a stratigraphy box activity. See real arrowheads and learn how archaeologists uncover the past. Make a beaded necklace or leather bracelet to wear home.

Archaeology Adventure | Saturday, July 18
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Drop in anytime for self‑guided family activities including artifact displays, arrowhead identification, and fossil rubbings. Explore the tools and treasures of Mississippi’s past.

Fossils & Prehistoric Life | Friday, July 24
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (ages 7 & under)
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (ages 8+)
Hold real shark teeth, trilobites, and a dinosaur tooth. Make a plaster fossil to take home and dig for “prehistoric” treasures in a fossil sandbox.

Birds of the Delta | Friday, July 31
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (ages 7 & under)
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (ages 8+)
Identify common Mississippi birds, listen to their calls, and make a bird silhouette craft. Practice using binoculars and take home a Junior Birder journal.

Live Bird Show | Saturday, August 1

Description: Freedom Ranch Wildlife Center presents a live bird show featuring raptors and other birds of the Delta. Fun for all ages.
Free with museum admission. Pre-registration required.
